LAPEL PIN ITALIAN CAMPAIGN

The Italian Campaign was Canada’s longest Second World War army campaign. It lasted 20 months from 1943 until 1945 as Canadian and other Allied forces battled across Sicily and up the Italian peninsula to liberate the country from Germany’s grip. More than 92,000 Canadians served in Italy at a cost of 26,000 casualties, including nearly 6,000 who were killed in the fighting.
